Alternatives to Violence

It's that time of year again!

Trivia Night 2017 Main LogoEvery October, tables of eight players compete for the chance to be called Trivia Champs -- but the night is about so much more than just that. Trivia Night is a much-anticipated annual event that brings the community together for a night of fun and an opportunity to take a stand against Domestic Violence and Abuse, with all funds raised going to support Alternatives to Violence (ATV), Tehama County’s only provider of emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their children. ATV provides the many other support services needed to break the cycle of violence as well – peer, group and individual counseling, assistance with restraining orders, and an intervention program for those struggling with abusive behaviors, just to name a few. So, whether this will be your first year participating in this meaningful (and fun!) event, or you’re a tried-and-true Trivia Night veteran, it’s sure to be time well-spent!

Trivia Night 2017: October 21 at the Red Bluff Community CenterDoors open at 4:30 PM • Trivia Starts at 6:00 PM

To our community partners:

Promote your business or organization, while taking a stand that says “No More” domestic violence in our community! Sponsor this event through your donation of any amount that is right for you, donate a basket to the Silent Auction or a prize to one of the raffles to help ATV raise funds to support our program and promote your business or cause at the same time.

Sponsors of $500 or more will have their logos included on promotional materials for the event and at the event. Donations to the Silent Auction or Raffle will be presented with your name and logo prominantly featured on the item. Tell the community that you stand with us in ending domestic violence and promoting healthy relationships for all. You can't buy better publicity than that!

Can we count on you to help us?

Girl in WindowAbusive relationships have good times and bad times. Part of what makes dating violence so confusing and painful is that there is love mixed with the abuse. This can make it hard to tell if you are really being abused.

GirlCircleDomestic violence has serious, lifelong implications for our children’s future health and well-being.

When a child is exposed to the abuse of a parent, the consequences can be serious and long lasting.

Children are also negatively affected by the daily stress, uncertainty and chaos that follow the abuse. Even if a child doesn’t actually witness the abuse, knowing of the abuse can still have a powerful effect on them.
