Alternatives to Violence (ATV) provides a broad range of services for individuals and families impacted by domestic violence or abuse. Services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis counseling, psycho-educational and support groups, assistance filing protective orders, court accompaniment, advocacy, counseling, therapy and emergency shelter. ATV provides services for batterers and those at risk of becoming abusive.

The job: 

Therapists provide counseling for teens, children and their families in local schools and at our counseling center in Red Bluff. Facilitation of psycho-educational groups (provided for batterers and those at risk of becoming abusive) may be part of this position. This position may also provide education and outreach activities to engage the community, increase awareness of services and improve access to services.

The ideal candidate will have two years’ experience working with child victims, and a deep understanding of trauma, child abuse, domestic violence, family dynamics and child development. Working knowledge and experience with trauma-informed, evidence-based modalities. Applicants must be licensed or registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Bilingual Spanish is a plus. Therapists are paid for all work hours, not only billable hours. We may consider part-time or flexible schedules.

Salary range: $37,000 to $45,000 (Intern), $46,000 to $52,000 (licensed), depending on experience and qualifications.
